Performance Description: 200-Meter Tunnel Probe Core Drilling Rig
This specialized core drilling rig is engineered for the precise and demanding task of geological prospecting ahead of and around tunnel construction. Designed to operate in confined, often challenging environments, it delivers the critical data needed for safe and efficient tunneling.
1. Compact & Modular Design:
Engineered with a low profile and modular components, allowing for assembly and operation within the limited space of a tunnel heading or access gallery. It is often track-mounted or set on a skid base for easy maneuvering on uneven ground.
2. High-Precision Coring Capability:
Utilizes diamond-impregnated or surface-set core barrels to extract high-quality, undisturbed rock core samples (typically HQ or NQ size). This allows for detailed analysis of rock type, fracture density, RQD (Rock Quality Designation), and potential fault zones.
3. Powerful yet Controlled Drilling:
Equipped with a robust hydraulic top drive or rotary head, providing high torque and adjustable rotational speeds (RPM) and feed pressure. This ensures efficient penetration in hard rock while maintaining core integrity in fractured ground.
4. Depth Capacity for Advanced Probing:
Specifically rated for probe drilling up to 200 meters (and often beyond) from a single setup. This reach is crucial for long-distance geological forecasting, identifying water-bearing zones, and gas pockets well ahead of the tunnel face.
5. Inclinometer & Directional Control:
Integrated survey tools (inclinometers) allow for monitoring and controlling the drill hole's angle and alignment. Optional directional drilling systems can steer the borehole to navigate around obstacles or follow specific geological targets.
6. Automated Rod Handling & Safety:
Features semi-automated rod handling systems to increase efficiency and reduce manual labor in tight spaces. Includes comprehensive safety interlocks and clamping systems to secure the drill string during operations.
